I knew early on it had to be a dream. Cleo would never allow herself to get into that sort of desert situation. I was thinking along the lines of some sort of spiritual quest.
OMG! That desert scene looks soooooooooooo inviting right now! Sun! Dry land! Warm!!!!! And, I can see that Nighthawks is quoting Nighthawks: ARRGGHH! Great fun, NH and SB.

I can’t tell what they are, but whatever they are is something you run away from.

There are days when I wish my life was just a bunch of cartoon cliches. ACME, where are you when I need you???

Well, hello there, Cleo fans and visitors!
You’ve probably figured out we’re talking about
the MARCH FIRST (!!) 2019 “CLEO and COMPANY”
But if not… click here to see it on Sherpa:
http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy
Be happy,Cleo… at least you didn’t slip on a banana peel….
or get boiled in a witch’s caldron or a cannibal’s giant dinner pot.
You didn’t walk 10 feet straight out from a cliff, look down, and then fall…
nor were you mugged by a felon wearing striped “jail pajamas” and a black satin eye mask.
However…. you did later get stranded on a so-called “desert island”…. (dunno why they’re called that when they always have a palm tree).
You escaped on a word balloon with Clara and Claude….
and… oh, wait…. I think that was a dream too.
Sigh….
Anyway…. the hamsters may have started stealing full size lawn furniture after Howard went out of business,
and they didn’t have anyplace to buy it in their own size any more.

Silly of him to aim all his promotions at mice, and not advertise in the “Hamster Times.”
And if anybody is bothered by the hamsters “chicken feet”….
remember that Jerry Van A draws dog feet the same way, only more plump….

Even his human feet also have a bit pointing backwards at the heel.
Maybe he went to the Ballard Evening College of Art and Poultry Farming… it’s a “cheep” way to get an education.
I hear a lot of the Life Drawing models they can afford to hire at BECA&PF are barnyard fowl, cos they work for chicken feed.

Or, possibly, tyrannical lawn furniture is oppressing hamsters. :)
