Is that in the rule books?

It’s a common tactic used by players who lose frequently…it’s called the “Bubba Opening.”

But why throw away your Queen - it’s the most useful piece. Chuck a rook instead.

The queen’s heavier. You can throw rooks all day, but if you can nail them with a queen early, you’re golden.

The queen can go anywhere

That’s right. The knights keep turning away, and pawns move one at a time. Can’t hit anyone with those!

What about a bishop? That pointy little hat of theirs has to sting - of course, I really stink at chess so you can shake your head at me now if you like.

That’s quite the gambit.

Can fill-contact chess be far behind?

This could get ugly.

I’m surprised the movie poster designer didn’t reduce Charles’ name to “Chuck.”

Take it from Bark Bagle, you do not want to be cast adrift in a small boat with a crew of seasick bassets.

Mutinous Mutts! I suspect they will land on an island and interbreed!

With regard to the chess match above; is that “crowning” him? Doesn’t he get some sort of bonus?

That’s a poster that just screams “EPIC!”, wouldn’t you say?

Charlie Laughbasset….. well, he wasn’t exactly a barrel of “ha-ha”s in this one, was he?

Evil Captain indeed! Even worse than our Evil Que…. um… never mind….

I mean …. leashes, chains, tight collars….

I hear he even used rolled up newspapers on those poor basset sailors.

BTW… I joke about his name…. but I’ve heard it’s not really pronounced like laugh-basset….

more like “law-basset.”

From his long line of snooty pedigreed forebears.

I’m sure we’d all follow the dashing Bark Bagle…

as he leads the pack in taking over the ship….

and they sail away to settle on Pitcairn Terrier Island.

Where they mated with the wild female dogs….

and their great great great great great great (is that enough?) grandpuppies still live today.

It’s a place that lives in every dog’s fantasy,

and, truth to tell, in mine….

like a giant, wild, dog park, far out at sea.

The humans did this too, once again….

But the human in the Bagle role looks more “confused” than “dashing”

and the Captain looks merely childish and petulant.

Interesting Historical Side Note – MUTT-INY was produced by my Great Uncle, Irving Tailbarker (he changed his last name to distance himself from the family shame from That Ugly Incident in the Catskills a few years earlier).
