It looks like Martha has her hair rollers wound too tight…again.

What’s this about Beauty and the Basset??? Bassets are the epitome of beauty all by themselves.

That’s just the coffee talking, Marcus. Pay it no mind.

No basset should take that lying down.

    Hullo all….

    A night of mystery…..

A good night for a dreamy poster, like this somehow somber fairytale one by StelBel….

for a beautiful but rather mysterious film….

in the June 4th  2019 “CLEO and COMPANY”

See it on Sherpa…. and return to talk about it here.

    http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy

Jean Cockerspaniel was a French dog…. the dialogue is barked in French, and subtitled….

the scenes gauzy, but lavish with baroque interiors, heavy costumes, gold and jewels…. touched with magical camera trickery.

Josette Dog is the Beauty….. inside and out… as close to a delicate wisp as a basset can be.

Jean Mongrel plays multiple roles, including both Beast, in extra layers of fur…. and smirking Beast antagonist.

An enchanted painting, come to life.

The original advertising recommended it for puppies… but when I saw it as a young adult, the dark foreboding of some scenes overcame the fairytale nature…

I think all but the most intrepid puppy would be terrified.

I’m not afraid of it any more…..

I can get us up to 16 adult tickets for today’s 3:47 matinee at the BassetPlexII, including a small kibblecorn and a small soda or bowl of water…

We get to pay the puppy price of $2.14 each, if I let the manager know how many are coming by 3:23.

If I ask nicely he might even give us the puppy toy…. a tiny stuffed Beast.

    Who’s coming?

BTW, the humans tried with this film too…..

the female human looks rather cold:

Oh…. and whatever kind of coffee Martha’s drinking….

Please, may I have a cup?

Wouldn’t it be cool if the rock star Pink, instead of calling herself Pink, had called herself Purple?

(I don’t why I thought of that just now)

I mentioned mystery…I’ve been trying to decide what to say.

Yesterday, I made my usual “welcome” comment….

I linked to Cleo, of course, but mentioned that the new strip hadn’t posted yet.

Then I went to bed, very late…

I think I saw at least a couple of “likes” on it when I looked at the forum again Monday afternoon…. so some of you saw it.

I read the new strip, and the new posts, but I didn’t have time to comment again.

Tonight my post there is GONE.

If anybody replied, I never saw it, cos replies (and likes) disappear with it.

OK, I know there are glitches…. I’ve accidentally deleted my own comments before…

But this time, I didn’t open the Cleo forum, I just refreshed my own profile…. and poof! I could no longer see my post.

You can’t delete from your profile…. so I know I didn’t accidentally do it.

I haven’t mentioned it here before… but my posts have disappeared in several places.

I answered questions on the stuck April 30th 2019 Ballard Street, advising people to be patient, and wait for reruns….

That doesn’t seem lie a bad thing to do, but most of those posts are gone.

I also went there on May 5th, and invited everyone to x_Tech’s birthday on Cleo….

All the birthday posts there were removed… including the link.

So I came back here and checked…. my posts have also been removed from his birthday ON CLEO.

Some other people’s remain, but some are gone.

Wondering whether I was being targeted, or just paranoid…. I checked April 16th…. MY birthday…. ON CLEO….

Most of that has been removed, too!

    Why?

And who knew how to find my birthday?

If I’m doing something wrong, I wish they’d tell me, so I could stop….

Even if they don’t want birthdays, it’s OK… just say so!

Other birthdays have been left untouched, though…

    so I really don’t understand.

I know he’s supposed to be scary, but this Beast is kind looking. I have to assume our Beauty has touched him and he’s become super gentle. (or maybe it’s her purplie eyeliddiness?)

Good afternoon Balladeers! And our disappearing Miss Susan. I checked a couple strips out, and a couple had one comment some had 2 left of yours. I didn’t check all of them though. I don’t know what is going on Susan. I don’t find anything you say or do offensive.
