Fine dining in Cleveland, is the subject…. or at least, dining at a local eatery.

It actually looks exactly like a place where I used to eat a lot, (many) years ago.

It would look like a restaurant from this angle… but was actually in an area located at the back of a Thrifty’s drug store…. with only a low wall separating it from the sales aisles beyond that row of booths.

If you want to know how many years ago…. all I’ll say is that we used to go there on Fridays for the all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatballs. Not great… but only $1.49.

Nice to see that the waitress asks who ordered the kibble entree…

In a way, I guess Cleveland has one thing in common with Ballard Street… no species discrimination or assumptions.

I fell asleep with seven, woke up to find 8, and I’m not staying up any longer looking for number 9.

Some day, they’ll be reading about Uncle Stew in the paper. Perhaps he’ll even be front page news. That’ll force them to address the situation.

The place was featured in Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and Cleo orders a kibble omelet? Why couldn’t she order one of their famous burgers?

OK… I guess it’s bedtime…. so even though I haven’t seen some of our usual cast of characters….

it reminded me of something I read, that maybe I should mention here…. a PSA, if you will.

There are a lot of faddish “healthy” diets for pets, just like for humans… I use quotes because some IMHO are rather crazy, some not.

Like all those exotic meats…. people buy them because they’re told their dogs have allergies to more common proteins found in beef, chicken, etc…. so perhaps only mongoose or wild gazelle will do..Others believe that because wild dogs don’t eat wheat and oats, they should feed theirs a grain free diet.

Grain free pet foods have recently been linked to major heart problems in dogs.

One study I saw found the effects in dogs eating expensive, supposedly very healthful, food from premium brands including Blue Buffalo, Rachel Ray, and Chicken Soup…. also in prepared “raw food” sold in pet stores.

Some of the brands substitute dried legumes, potatoes, or sweet potatoes for the grain… scientists are still trying to track the connection.

But if you currently feed your pet a grain free food, please…. don’t take my word for it, but Google “grain free food and heart problems in dogs”.

Only got 6 today! I must still be half asleep…..the wind here kept waking me up last night.

This was not as easy as it looked! I only got 6. This is my all time LOW! Of course, the three I missed were quite obvious. Not like a different number of french fires, or a lumpier omelet. Geezsh!

Okay. Next week i"ll get all 9.

I still can’t find all of them. I got here late today. Just think, only 11 more months to go till they change the fix-it date to 2020.

It might be that pork is more allergenic than other meats.

As for grain, compared to wild dogs, domesticated dogs have evolved to have much higher levels of the genes required to create enzmes for digesting grains, probably started from stealing human food even before domestication. But even humans descended from the areas where wheat was domesticated, still have cases of celiac disease.
