Well, maybe. Complacency means that it troubles you too much to care about what’s going on around you, so you don’t. That’s easier on you, and probably on everyone around you too, but….

I’d rather be contented for a good reason, than complacent for none. (On the other hand, I’m not much fun at parties.)

I would say that Stan has wrapped himself around a few to many cocktails.

Stan obviously feels the same way I do about parties.

Reminds me of the expression my dog has when you scratch that spot on her neck.

As long as there are not too many folks like Stan, the party can go on.

Cleo and Claude have something to say about the jewelry worn by the guests:

And yet as unappealing as that sounds, it’s just another way for the jeweller to rob you blind.

So he is just going to sit there until he’s thrown out in the end.

I’d prefer real chocolate. No, Cleo – you can’t have some.

Chocolate, brown, whatever. A poop by any other name would still stink.

Wow… I’m so late, I thought everyone would have been here by now…

and that almost anything that could be said would already have been said…

about the March 11th  2020 “CLEO and COMPANY” …. on Sherpa.

But there’s still room for more…

However… though I get the feeling that tonight’s Cleo commenters might agree with me…

I’m hesitant to say too much about “chocolate diamonds” because the minute I do,

somebody will have just bought or received one, and will think it’s the best thing since Hershey kisses, and I’ll be in trouble.

But if you haven’t, and you’re thinking of it….

well… just bear in mind that while “chocolate” diamonds are (supposedly) the best brown diamonds out there…

25 or 30 years ago, ANY brown diamonds were only sold for cutting tools, watch parts, and other industrial uses.

Then ONE company, Le Vian, invented a grading scale and named them “Chocolate”, with a massive marketing campaign….

and voila! … industrial diamonds were gemstones… a “bargain” at “only” half the price of colorless stones, and they sounded delicious.

Are they wonderful? If YOU love them, I guess so.

Diamonds don’t perform miracles, protect you from bullets …. not even cure coronaviruses…

ask Cleo what she thinks about a diamond and she’ll say it’s not very filling.

Diamonds only sell for thousands of dollars because, rather like paper money, people agree that they’re “worth” it.

That’s OK… it works, as long as we agree.

I used to sell vintage jewelry… not often diamonds, but I’ve looked at lots of stones.

Personally, I’d buy a vintage diamond over a new one… it’s way cheaper and the stone is just as sparkly and pretty.

    They don’t wear out.

But you won’t find a vintage brown stone… not in jewelry, anyway.

20 years ago, people would have laughed at it.

    Just like Claude.

A rose by any other name smells just as sweet.

But a brown diamond is just a rip off.

Susan, I just thought of something, and I should “google” it. Is AVON still in existence? I sold that when I was a senior in high school and a year or two after that. LOL! LOL!
