One of my cats greeted me at the door with a length of telephone cord he’d chewed through. He was very proud of what he’d done.

Hello, Cleo fans, puzzle lovers, newcomers to “Cleo and Company”… and wandering strangers…

Hopefully parts of those groups overlap…

Saturday is, indeed, puzzle time, in

the April 18th  2020 “CLEO and COMPANY”

You can find the new puzzle on Sherpa

    http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy

Or go straight to my side by side version here:

    https://i.postimg.cc/mgL9MDWN/Cleo-nine-difference-April-18th-2020.jpg

In case you’re new here… the side by side version usually makes it a bit easier to see… highlight and go to the link, or copy and paste it… if you use Neil Wick’s GC links it’ll open in the comment box….

but be sure to click it to see it bigger.

I also recommend copying it and pasting it into a simple image editing program like MS Paint, so you can mark the differences.

I also recommend closing GC Links, if you’re using it, before I come back (later) and post the animation solution, so kindly made for us every week by the semi-anonymous animation-solution-maker PERFECTIONISTA…

because it’s also an image and you don’t wantt to see it before you solve the puzzle.

    You don’t.

    Trust me.

The first eight I’ve found in three minutes, but it took me forever to spot the ninth.

    Got them all!

Poor widdew Cweo… nobody ever feeds her…

You can tell by that scrawny body.

That plump little tummy you see in this picture is just an accident of the lighting…

Kinda funny, that Cleo in her strip and Reggie, above, are both misjudging the probable reactions from “their” humans.

Dogs think humans are pretty pathetic… we can’t see 50 yards, can’t catch a squirrel, walk barefoot in the snow, or sniff out scents worth a #%@&.

So they figure they can outguess and control us… but then we turn out to have outlandish reactions… or just to be too stupid to follow their superior logic.

They put up with us, because… well… Alpo… an easy life… belly rubs…

but all the while, wondering what makes us tick.

(Not that former gold watch, obviously).

The dog brings home a perfectly lovely dead rat… roll in a delightful rotten snail… and we go nuts.

We humans bring home the results of a very successful hunt…. and throw the carcass into a big cold box instead of chewing on it… and sharing.

A golden lab mix I knew very well made sounds, when she was hungry, that you would almost swear were human words… begging and whining, with little wails.

And a friend’s mother’s poodle was fed every day at 5pm…

after her mother passed away, if my friend hadn’t fed him by about 5:05, he’d bring her his bowl in his teeth, with big sad eyes.

    Anyhow… I’m digressing…

cos I really came back to give you the lovely gif.t from our very own semi-anonymous animation-solution-maker PERFECTIONISTA.

I know some of you aren’t even here yet….

But it’s the wee hours of the morning, and I have to go to bed… and I don’t want you to have to wait till I get back, which is usually pretty late.

I’m trusting you not to peek, and not to carelessly open Neil Wick’s “GC Links” …. and see it before you do your best.

So give it the old college try…. make that the old Cleo try…

and when you’re really stuck… heck…. sleep on it.

And THEN take a look at this….

    https://i.postimg.cc/c1f3kJwY/FTD-4-18-2020-AB.gif

and see whether you found the right stuff, and what you missed.

    G’night, all.

@Stelbel & @Nighthawks I missed Cleo yesterday, but caught up today. It was such wonderful animation I felt like a kid watching Saturday morning cartoons! Very funny and so smoothly animated. Thanks for the laugh.

Well, I seem to be stuck on “8” again. And since I’m hungry and my breakfast quiche is almost ready, I peeked at the Perfectionista’s solution. The one I missed was one of those easy ones. Again. At least I got the difference in the ‘57 Studebaker’s mirror.

Did I ever tell you that I love these puzzles?

I thought I got all nine, but then I checked. One of the ones I thought was one, wasn’t. So I guess I have to settle for 8 today.

    sᴘᴇᴄɪᴀʟ ⚐ ⚐ ⚐ ⚐ IT’S @STILLTHEBELL ALL THE WAY DOWN ⚐ ⚐ ⚐ ⚐ ᴇᴅɪᴛɪᴏɴ

Saturday “Making Up For Last Saturday” Non Solution

       1.  Top: Cleo is quoting Shakespeare. Bottom: Cleo is practicing dramatic reenactment skills to be more like @StillTheBelle.

       2.  Top: Clara is using her iPad to search for more blue hair coloring (she’s running out). Bottom Panel: Clara is sending @StillTheBelle an email congratulating her for Susan Sunshine’s Fabulous birthday party.

       3.  Top: Clara’s pants are plain ole purplie. Bottom: If Nighthawks had allowed *StillTheBelle* to draw Clara’s pants they would not be plain purplie but sparkly, twinkly, glitterly, fabulosamently purplie.

       4.  Top: Claude is holding the line with Cleo. Bottom: If @StillTheBelle was Claude and Cleo was Max there wouldn’t be any of this “wait till 5pm” foolishness.

       5.  Top: 1957 Studebaker in driveway (offstage ) was stolen by cheapskate C&C producers from Studebaker National Museum in South Bend, Indiana. Bottom: If @StillTheBelle was a car she wouldn’t be ’57 Studebaker – she’d be a 2020 Rolls Royce Phantom.

6-9.  Highly technical. Only @StillTheBelle, whom no ole scalawag will ever again forget to include in this 6-9 Highly Technical section, will understand.
