Neil, take a walk, talk to the neighbors, the trees, the local police authorities. She’ll change her mind tomorrow with the full moon.

Halloween must be coming, cuz Stel has rolled out “Young Frankenbasset.” An easy start, probably does not require any hiding behind couches.

Say goodnight sweetheart. And don’t let the door hit you in the behind on the way out.

So many great quotes from that movie, spoofing the 30’ Frankenbasset movies, which I also love.

Such a great cast! Who can forget Marty Fleaman’s eyes! And the females, Madeline Canine, Cloris Poochman, and Teri GRRR!

What an ugly basset that Frankenstein is.

His creation, on the other hand…

Here’s one of the human versions:

First of all, why would she want to leave Neal? Unless, as DennisinSeattle suggests, he has been raiding her closet.

    Welcome, everybody, once again…

To another edition of Stel’s great poster for “Young Frankenbasset” …

in the Sept 22nd  2020 “CLEO and COMPANY”, on Sherpa…

I didn’t think of this being an opening to the Halloween season…

because you’re right, Dennis, about there being no need to hide behind the couch…

or even visit Scaredycat Row, if it’s playing at the BassetPlexIV… except that I like sitting there anyway.

I LOVE this movie… and have never found it scary.

It has so many quotable moments, it’s spawned dozens of catchphrases and internet memes.

See it with any group, even for the 10th time, and for days you’ll be reciting lines to each other…

and one will become a forever catchphrase.

    Every part seems perfectly cast…

I can’t imagine any other dogs than the ones in their iconic roles.

Gene Hackingdog, who was already a star in films like “The French Bulldog Connection”, did an amazing small turn as a blind hermit…

an unexpectedly MUST-see comedic bit, from a well-known dramatic actor.

You notice that Gene Wildcur, who actually stars in the film as Dr. Frankenbasset, is not pictured on this poster…

It’s because in 2016, on its first run, the rest of the cast was posing for a tribute to his human counterpart/imitator (depending upon who you ask), Gene Wilder, who had just passed away.

Wildcur is doing fine this days… still glossy-coated, and a naturally funny dog…

as are his fellow basset stars, whom Dennis listed, even Teri Grrr.

Her counterpart, though, in the human, copydog , version, Teri Garr, is, sadly, the last of the human cast still with us….

and has not been able to act in recent years due to complications of multiple sclerosis.

I can’t wait to see it again during this run…

If it’s at the BassetPlexIV, I’ll try to get group tickets… who’s in?

Egads! It’s almost Halloween time. Again. But, like Susan said, this is such a fun movie. No need for a couch. Just full of toe-tapping music, like Putting on the Ritz.
