And here I am, my dear Cleo fans and puzzle people…
including even any Cleo fans who don’t do puzzles and puzzle fans as yet unfamiliar with Cleo…
Let’s all get together anyway… and enjoy
the Sept 26th 2020 “CLEO and COMPANY” on Sherpa…
It’s a nice-looking strip, which you can admire even if you can somehow resist looking for differences between the panels.
I have to confess, I can’t…. my mind just gravitates to a puzzle…
I was going to say that the other day when Perkycat wondered about my close examination of some pulleys after Dennis posted about them.
I just cant resist once it turns into a puzzle.
Speaking of which… you can solve it as is, on Sherpa…. but most of you know it’s a little easier on the eyes to use my side by side version…
the way Nighthawks would have posted it himself, were Sherpa not stingier with the width than the height allotted to uploaded strips. (Why is another puzzle… but I have no clues.)
Solve away…. and of course I’ll be back with MY circled solution, again.
Your tolerance is appreciated.
.
The semi-anonymous animation-solution-maker PERFECTIONISTA, as you may know, has taken a well-deserved semi-retirement from providing solutions…
Though I have to say her retirement package from Cleo and Company Puzzles Inc. leaves something to be desired.
She is still forced to work at various other jobs, some in other branches of the far-flung Cleo and Company Productions “empire”, just to keep herself in popcorn and computer ink.
Got everything. I’m just wondering, what happens when Miss Behave kisses him and he faints? Does she wait around till he wakes up or does she steal everything he has and just vanishes till the next time?
I got my usual 8. The one I missed was an area that I looked at repeatedly and never saw it. My time is less than 5 minutes, short attention span here.
Good morning Ballardeers! Q Date: 197.98336.53 and what do I get? PURPLIES!YAY!
The above toon is the exact reason that none of the 5 Danes were allowed on the bed. If any of the fosters needed comforting, one of us would be on the floor with them. And of course if one was getting “lovies”, you know they were all there, so the middle of the living room held the sleep over.
Y’all keep a grip on your blankets! (((((HUGS for the fur babies!)))))

Skipper wondered what he’d done to spend so much time in the doghouse, and was tired of it.

We all wish her well, I’m sure.

Some years back, a friend sent me a picture taken early one morning by his teenage daughter, while he slept.
She was looking for their dog, who usually slept in her bed, but wasn’t there.
So she peeked into her Dad’s room…
and there they lay… both sound asleep on his single bed…
The dog, slightly smaller than had she been all Labrador, instead of half….
lying on her side, with all four legs extended towards him, at their maximum straightness and stiffness…
She’d pushed him, along with all the blankets, to the other side of the mattress, and partway off.
Even in his deep sleep, you could see that he was clinging for dear life to the edge of the cliff,
with the bedding cascading off of him onto the floor, and helping pull him downward.
She was a very sweet doggie, when awake… but you know, one needs one’s beauty rest.

Ok, m’dears… back, as promised.
Hope you’ve all tried your hardest…
Then you can take a look at the solution, and see how you did.

I’m never going to tell you a particular puzzle was easy, or boast about how fast I did it.
Everyone’ puzzle experience is different…Some people have better or worse eyesight, bigger or small monitors… get more sleep, are younger, or just have more puzzle aptitude.
It’s OK.
It purposely isn’t a contest… the object is just to enjoy it.
But what I will say about this one is that I didn’t think there were any terribly tiny or subtle differences…
so if you usually resist trying them… you might want to start here.
You never have to reveal your speed or rate of success…
and you’ve got a solution to check, in privacy, to see how you did.
I think that helps you see some possibilities and do better next time.
Or just enjoy it more!
And if you don’t do puzzles… that’s OK too.
Just hang out…. tomorrow is another strip.

BTW, what is it with gumshoes and raincoats? Is it part of the PI regs that they have to wear one at all times?

Okay, Gang. I only got 7. :((
So, I must be one of those ‘not-so-young’ ones Susan warned us about. I still love the challenge of these puzzles. It really does keep me crotchety.
