This is something Harold has been wondering about every since he woke up on the side walk in front of the Midnight Massage Parlor back in ‘45. Then there’s that fellow Undercover MonkeyBlue always poking into his business. And x_Tech, looks at him kinda sideways, with a just the slightest upturn at the corner of his mouth. Someone knows something, but what? And there are some things he just can’t bring himself to share with Gloria.

Unbeknowst to Gloria, Harold’s dossier has been sealed since ‘64… So many coincidental near misses, the iron curtain tunnel, those missing pictures from Dallas… And what about those Soviet satellite blueprints…??? Incidents never revealed to those not priviledged to such information. Things and places not known to Gloria during their 47 years of comfy marriage. She was attracted to his European accent, but sometimes it was missing while talking in his sleep, and avoided discussing his “work day” with occasional trepidation and deference. He was always generous, almost too much, for someone on his salary at the Ballard Street Appliance World & Repair… his double padlocked workshop in the basement is off limits… "Bah… There’s nothing in there that is of interest to you.." he would scold… And what of those occasional unmarked packages that he would pick up on the front porch only on months that ended in Y… Today is the day, after paying a private investigator (a rather handsome and polite one at that) what little she could squirrel away from her allowance, nice of him to refund his fee… his final report was shocking…!!! Her husband doesn’t EXIST… In ANY file or record, and this inspector was the BEST… Well today is the day for answers… and Gloria will get some.. If it’s the last thing she does…

…. sigh….anyway, I want to apologise for disappearing, right in the middle of so much preparation for Sunday…

I’ll have to catch up on everything tomorrow. I obviously came home very tired.I’m afraid I can’t help Harold find himself or Gloria find Harold while I can barely find myself.Perhaps in the morning…I mean…. I know it IS morning….in the comics… but….. Meanwhile I am very glad that the astute and knowing x_Tech and the (by his own admission) handsome and polite Undercover Monkey are on the trail.I feel so safe on Ballard Street.(Well, unless you guys get into Dogsniff’s brownies.)

Good memory, Beviek, from yesterday…. I do work at a farmer’s market on Wednesday nights…. I still have no speakers, but that little porcupine was adorable anyway…. but corn in May?Sorry…. not yet.I would, however, be happy to color Gloria’s hair.Hope she can wait till next week, though….StelBel is sending so many out-of-town clients we’ll barely finish before the parade.(Remind me to send her some roses as a thank you. Shhhh…. don’t tell her.)

Tomorrow…. er, later today…. OK, Thursday afternoon I hope to get back to important things like writing lyrics and mulling the identity of Harold…

    Found:

In the evidence locker at the station, and assortment of international passports with Harold’s photo in each of them, which I was not looking for (I know I had no business snooping around, but I just needed to retrieve Essex90"s dehydrator and his chainsaw, jerky being extremely popular among the out-of-town guests at SCHAABS).

Has anyone seen my yodeling aardvark ? I was going to loan him to beviak for the festivities in case she couldn’t book Teddy. He must have gone of on one of his self-discovery trips again.

Harold is used to Gloria’s lack of short term memory. He knows he doesn’t have to answer her because she never can stay angry very long.

<sent from IMB’s iPhone>Headin out of town on my way to meet with a “mole” that may have some clues as to a certain “person of interest” whereabouts… (don’t get yer hopes up, he’s VERY unreliable)… and I noticed that the crew of volunteer carpenters from the BS Local 37 (and 5/8ths) have completed the setup of our surplus Yurts that we are going to use as vendor tents, comfort stations and parade staging tents…. along the parade route…

problem is…. they’re 3 MILES SOUTH OF TOWN… can somebody please get over there and tell the foreman (Frank I think is his name) the bad news…. duh…!!

    I gotta go….

I’m on a borrowed PC right now, as we’ve been having connection problems today. Hopefully, we’ll be back to what passes as normal sometime tomorrow, at least I hope so. What a time to have these problems, what with the parade on Sunday, a full hotel, and all the internet orders to process, not to mention the one-horse pony express can’t pass a mirror or shop window without pausing and posing…Poor Alvin Aard. I thought he was a little depressed because the colors weren’t as vibrant as he’d hoped, but he’s crushed that he can’t be in the parade festivities. Why, he’s little more than Argyle Sweater’s indentured servant. Isn’t there something that can be done???Wouldn’t you know there’s going to be an onomatopoeic orgy (linguist, I hope you spelled that correctly, because I copied you — haven’t had to spell that word since high school!), and I can be there! I hope someone will at least do a video!Well, I must run! Hopefully, I’ll be able to check in sometime in the morning. Can someone please make sure that everything is quiet at SCHAABS? I would so appreciate it!

Harold replies: “Gloria, if I told you, I would have to kill you.”

“For Heaven’s sake Harold, we’ve been married for forty years. We have three children. We have three grandchildren!”

    “I know, dear. I didn’t say I wouldn’t miss you.”
