It’s good to be able to come back to Ballard County, when it’’s quiet again, and the dishes are done.
I’m still 50 miles from my home out west… but I can walk to the Tiki…
Elvis is napping cos he’s had to do a lot of traveling…
I gave him some of his favorite 40 wt dog car chews in his stocking, and he’s a happy pup. Car. Pup. Car.
br>Fenton doesn’t mind working Christmas night cos the holiday pay is generous….
And the daytime crew got to eat and listen to music and have a good time all day while they worked… even have a beer or two, as long as they didn’t overdo.
It’s a great place to work.So here I am again. Hi gang!
Boyd may be the ballast on Shirley’s Ship of Fools, and her anchor on the turbulent Sea of Sensibility, but poor Shirley has been one sail short for many years and navigates without either a compass or a rudder.
I think it must have been Dr. Toon’s Nuclear coffee!
I was Skyping along with daughter’s family (5000 miles away) last night while they enjoyed dessert with neighbors and I had a healthy version too. They had pie, cheesecake and wine while I had fresh pineapple, Greek yogurt and WW oatmeal cookies and herbal tea.
Brother Boyd, Shirley has doubled down and a six day run up to New Years is only the beginning. So eat your cake and have it too. Double the dots, the bangles and pearls, wash away the blue rinse and you have Shirley at her finest. So why the long face my friend? It been fifty years of league leading doubles, this is no time to bunt. Remember she called you her steady Eddie and for good reason. So take heart, Shirley has. Pull up your socks and cinch up your belt, loosen your tie, find the far horizon, plot a course, shoot from the hip but aim at the stars…come on Boyd, let it rip.
tudaze strip…“Go head Shirly, stick your fork inta Boyd…. hes dun”(BTw… she dont look lak she neads eny balast… buttam thinkin she hasta use teh harbor tugs an a spotter when she pools into port… jus sayin)
My friend back in Chicago rather kept me grounded too (I sometimes go overboard). My daughter last night had enough wine with her deserts that she was bragging to her neighbors (visiting there) about my going back to dating, and about my appearances on TMZ. (I only had one recently, but they reran another show where I appeared, so I was on twice this week). not looking my best either, as they tape for the show rather early.
“Just thought I would drop by and say hello to everyone. I trust those who celebrate had a wonderful Christmas Day? I hope you all did. Mine was very nice and my sons were delighted with their presents. Good food, good fun. I hope the new year finds me back on BS and out and about elsewhere, but I have no idea. Answering emails is not the mods strong suit, I am afraid. Lack of time or lack of courtesy?”

Shirley is gonna get that coffee where she doesn’t need it, and Boyd is sinking along with the ship.

Nature finds a balance.
Effervescence sometimes needs an anchor…. flights of fancy may need a tether.
And the one with his feet firmly planted gets to enjoy an occasional view from the clouds….
Shirley feels secure knowing she’ll be pulled back to earth if she starts to make a fool of herself, or strays too far from common sense…
And Boyd may not be able to float on his own, but he secretly likes going along for the ride.
