That shirt is about as mind-bending as Last Rose’s black dots. I am beginning to learn that Ballard Street tailors must have some awesome fabric available. All hand painted, no doubt
@beviek (reply didn’t work)According to my wife then, I’ll never grow old. Something about always being a little kid, or never growing up … at least she says it with a chuckle, so it can’t be all bad.
In 1962 it was considered scandalous when 14 year old Sue Lyon acted in Lolita… and couldn’t attend the premiere at 15.
Jodie Foster was only twelve in that Taxi Driver photo,Her sister Connie was19.She turned 13 by the time the movie was released… but was WAY too young to attend the premiere. Two years later, then 12-year-old Brooke Shields also played a 12-year-old prostitute, in Pretty Baby.
Makes me wonder how old movie hookers are today.
Also,,, the guy in the “Goodbye” photo isn’t saying goodbye.Anybody better at lip-reading than I am?It’s driving me nuts!
As you all know we are all swingers are swinging into Carnaval ( of Mardi Gras for you New Orleans Saints fans ) here in Ballard , starting today and wending our way like a drunken Conga line through next to next Tuesday night.
There will be the parades on Ballard Street every night and a daytime parade tomorrow. ( All properly licensed and permitted through our Carnival King – Sherif MunkyBluz ).The parades will include many floats, and marauding marching bands, including Ballard HS Drum, Bugle & Kazoo Corps.
The festivities are non-stop, especially at the Tiki which will have live entertainment ( aside from the regular customers who are entertaining, all by themselves. ) There’ will be all sorts of food and drink specials, which Susan will be posting later. Right Sue ?
And don’t forget the SUPER DUPER Super Bowl Party at the Tiki on Sunday ! Bet on Root for your team ! Get in the football spirit with some spirits poured by the marvelous mixologist, Fenton.
I, personally, have overseen the smugg importation of a shipment of casks of fine wine, rum, and other potent potables to keep the party going. My galleon, The Irish Rover® will be moored in Ballard Bay and will occasionally ( time undetermined ) be shooting off our cannons displays of pyrotechnics.
On behalf of my entire Krew ( including my watch cat El Gato, my faithful parrot and bodyguard Pierre le Nez ( aka Pete the Beak ) and my First Maite, I hereby proclaim:Que comience la fiesta !Let the Party Begin !or as they say in New Orleans…Laissez le bon temps rouler !!
