OMG…. Dennis…I was just about to post that very same picture of Oscar the grouch!
Because….
Bri-No-Mite…. I had no trouble with GoComics today…so when I’d just been looking at Warren, and you said “Hi Everybody” my first thought was that you were imitating Oscar.Seems like a lot of Muppets say that.
You know… speaking of Oscar the grouch….(OK, well I was… ) Seems like we don’t get to see too many pictures of “behind the scenes”…like Disneyland, they like to keep the magic looking seamless. So I like this one…of Carroll Spinney, who has been both Big Bird and Oscar since Day 1….and AFAIK still is!
At least Warren knows how to take himself out at night !
Warren was really spying on the competition for the upcoming Ballard Easter Parade, Barbeque, Egg Roller Derby & Trash Can Gymkhana Here’s a shot of last year’s contestants:
BevThe first thing I thought of when I saw the pic of Sophia Loren was that she looked uncomfortable, all squished up on that chair, and her arm is gonna have an indentation from the wall.
For all my fellow oldsters out there, in addition to pi day today is also National Napping Day! Traditionally celebrated on the day after the start of DST. Yay!
And Gloria: Just leave Warren where he is. You’ll both be happier and better off.
Pcolli… I posted about that above… though not about April, cos I’m not sure where that comes in. Pi is 3.14159 ad infinitum… or approximately 22/7…
So, with your date format, your pi day is 22/7 … Approximate Pi Day. This year, on this side, we can use the year to help make pi five digits… rounded to 3.1416.Or, as in most years, celebrate on 3.14 at 1:59… And you are welcome to join me for pi.I made blackberry at Bev’s request.
pcolli… if you mean the units of time getting longer, ie, giving the date as day, month, year, yes, I understand that logic.
I guess, though, that when I read, say, 10/3/09, I’m forever trained to think October 3rd, 2009….
You’d read it March 10th, 09…but elsewhere, it means 2010, Sept 3rd.To me, the old computer format makes the most sense, actually… YYMMDD.Hard to get used to… bit it does put files in order without confusion.100309 is March 9th, 2010100903 is Sept 3rd.But the Y2K non-event scared everybody… ooooooh!030309 could be in 1903 or 2003, and we couldn’t possibly know which!
In any case, I thought you were saying you couldn’t have pi day cos there is no 31.04.16… which wouldn’t be pi…but now I realise you meant without the zero.31.4.16 would indeed be pi but with the “wrong” decimal place.
