The ole Capt. is heading off the grid for a few days on “businness”. We’re weighing anchor, as I write, and the good galleon The Irish Rover® will be setting sail from Ballard Bay and heading points South ( and undisclosed ) .
I’ll be back on Monday or so with lots of loot…er… items of import. I’ve already arranged for the Banana Barque to hit port this afternoon so the Tiki will have plenty of the yellow wonders for the Nanner Daiquiri Fathers Day Special this weekend.
There’s an ample supply of rum and other potent potables in the Liquor Locker, Susan , so you should be fine until I get back.

I don’t think I want to see Doug and Doris “firing all guns” at each other. {_shudder_}

We have enough dog fights on Ballard Street already!

Note Doris’ ankle-foot position is relatively normal.

Doug and Doris have restraint orders out against each other. So if they get into a dog fight the Ballard Police and Car Wash team is ready to nab ’em!

They’re both aces.

Dogfights, air-to-air missiles, restraining orders….
The police, the Car Wash Attendant’s Union, The B.C. Sheriff’s Department, all giving chase.
For Doug and Doris, it just adds to the excitement of freewheeling across the sky, banking big lazy turns through the clouds…
and makes for a happier landing,
and a special night in their own private hangar …
from whence we shall tiptoe away, and leave them undisturbed…..
Sigh….. except for the Monkey, of course…
C’mon, Monkey…… can’t they show you their permits tomorrow?
I don’t think they’re a flight risk….
OK…
let me re-phrase that….

After the turn of the reading hour,
In the clear blue skies over Ballard Street,
Came a roar and a thunder men had never heard
Like the scream and the sound of a big war bird
Up in the sky, a man in a plane
Baron Doug Richthofen was his name………

In the nick of time, Dame Doris arose,
A funny dressed woman, whose slip often shows.
She flew into the sky to seek revenge
But the Baron shot her down – “Curses, foiled again!”

Yea, me too. I’m starting to think I’m supposed to move to Ballard St. now that I’m in the right mind and age group.

Is it time yet for their annual trip to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome?
