I prefer drip patterns over spray.

Is this Andy’s abstract expressionist phase?

It is just as good as most of the stuff at the art gallery.

Normally, a piece of art happens when he uses a power saw

His choice of colors is obviously an homage to Madame Deuxcouleurs’ artwork.

    Hey, x_Tech is correct….

Scooter does, indeed, do better work than Andy….

    and in some unusual media.

He’s not even the best artist among the local dogs.

Rudy would be great, in fact….. but he sells himself short.

Works too fast and sells too cheaply… though of course, it’s a canine thing to be a bit impatient.

To me, it’s Sparky, though, who could be the true artist of the group.

    He’s learning patience and focus…

so he can work on a portrait for three whole days.

Now, if only he’d try a more artistic medium than latex gloss trim paint.

One thing to note…. especially if, like me, you are a user of Neil Wick’s “GC Links” bookmarklet so all the images open here in the forum….

is the different sizes at which Ballard St images have been displayed over the years.

I’d hang it in my place. I wouldn’t pay for it, but I would hang it.

Looks better than most of the exhibits I saw at the museum of modern art in Los Angeles. One was an entire room of small black and white photos taken of the underside of freeway overpasses. Another was a large white canvas with straight parallel pencil lines drawn from left to right. An occasional wiggle “Showed the Humanity of the Artist”! Third was a stack of 1/2" thick pieces of glass about 4’ square upon which a bowling ball sized piece of steel had been dropped, partially penetrating the stack. The radiating cracks WERE SIMPLY FABULOUS! 3 artists who were laughing all the way to the bank. This one was done during either his Violent period, or his Clumsy period.

This one is black over red. The next one will be red over black. Andy is in the midst of working on a complete set.

    Red!

I wish I’d known you’d show up today!

I hadn’t seen you on Ballard Street in ages…

And I didn’t know where else to say this:

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY REDKAYCEI!

And no, your money’s no good today at the Tiki….

One round for everybody will be on the house …

and Fenton, please put the rest of Red’s drinks today on my tab….

And a yak rib platter, or whatever he’d prefer.

    Have a great day…

Andy is determined to get more recognition than Scooter this year at the Ballard Street Art Fair and Bonfire. (Last year: Scooter – Art Fair; Andy – Bonfire)
