Oh wow, I’ve been looking for one of those. The dog not the ratty old chair!

Not sure. It makes me think of Johnny Cash, “That Dirty Old Egg-Suckin’ Dog”. There’s probably a catch here.

There is a price to pay.

Stubby is used to working hard for a living….

but he’s older now, and getting tired.

I bet if he could talk to Dick and Marcia, they’d let him retire.

It’s not that they’re mean, or they don’t all get along.

But Stubby saw this chair this morning, with a sign that says “Free”….

and he decided it was what he needed.

Now, he figures, he is free at last!

I’m not sure he understands that he’s giving himself away…

he thought he was getting his freedom.

But he’s a sweet dog, and will probably be OK if you take him….

Just …. please… if he decides to go back to Dick and Marcia, I hope you’ll let him, and not take it personally.

Santa must have brought a new chair and puppy.. Out with the old…

“This was a good idea”, thinks Stubby, “it’s the only was to get some peace and quiet here on Ballard Street…”

Having seen all the old, now unwanted pets in a shelter I volunteered for, I really hate this cartoon.

If you want the best seat in the house, you’ll have to move the dog.

And he just got the chair broken in just the way he wanted it.

Scooter takes his time for one long last goodbye to his old friend. :>)
