I think it is supposed to. Norton doesn’t like the neighbors. And he does not trust them any more than they trust him.

Go on, Hazel, give him a swift boot to the back side, then, maybe he’ll listen.

He’s trying to catch the culprit that doesn’t pick up after their dog.

And this is why nobody EVER walks down their street. He almost gave me a stroke the other day. Good thing I was carrying my umbrella. Gave him a good whack, I did!

Why did she let him out without putting him on a chain? She should probably keep him inside most of the time and be with him on a very short leash otherwise.

Norton’s eccentricities are troubling.

Yup, that would do it for sure. Besides, it leaves terrible grass stains on the trousers.

Norton’s cat-like nerves are stretched as taut as they can get, when nasal Hazel speaks:

“AAAAAAAA, don’t do that!”

Skulking is good exercise. And he finds a lot of lost change.
