Eldo, I’d imagine that, being a product of English schooling, Lowe would HAVE to know that “Cruel To Be Kind” comes from Shakespeare, or at least would not have been surprised to learn it. Once you’re sufficiently familiar with the works (particularly “Hamlet”) it’s AMAZING how much of our phraseology traces back to him - did you know “the milk of human kindness” is from “Macbeth”?
The rest of the connections I made, I’d bet, were purely coincidences. Part of the attraction of F.I.A.T. for me is that it recognizes that connections are EVERYWHERE, but it does not insist that there’s any meaning to them. It’s simply the way the Universe runs…
