He didn’t mean God Given, he meant a word that would get censored here but also has four syllables. :)
I seem to recall he changed it to “God-intended” in television performances. But I personally take the original as implying: if there even is a God, we’re not getting any help from him, but we still have the right to be loved.
The one that drives me crazy is: “You probably think this song is about you”. Aarrgghh!!
I liked “Quincy”! He’s currently on MeTV…
