I totally get that joking about extreme cold to someone with no protection from the cold is an insensitive, self absorbed thing to do. But, to be fair, just HOW many times has Barney tried to give Clyde an extremely warm coat? A source of regular income? I LOVE this strip, but if Clyde is going to hold to the choice of homelessness that he has made, maybe it is somewhat reasonable that others stop seeing his hardships with as much sensitivity.

Now, if Barney were to joke about a different homeless person in the cold…

Night-Gaunt – I won’t crow about “being first”. I know you HATE that!;-)

“Thebird55” -If I remember correctly, a while back you shared some of your own hardships. I do not know the climate where you are, but I sincerely hope you are safe, and able to “get a step ahead”, as it were.

While in this instance the homeless person is homeless by choice, it’s true that this weather is brutal on those who are homeless by necessity, and such a question would be really cruel to them.
