    Alas, we do, indeed, spend far more – at the federal, state, __ local levels – on welfare for Barnard & his ilk than on Clyde and his co-sufferers. It is truly shameful.

    Barnard’s opinion of libraries is not surprising. The public library in my childhood home town was the principal source of hope that if I just held on I could in adulthood find a place that would nourish me instead of suppressing me.

    Neo-Liberals like Pillsbury want everything done by the market place. Make the govt just in a limited role. Mostly on the Federal level and not for you and me. They are business liberals as in whatever needs to be done let business do it or its isn’t worth doing.
