    1804: The ardent Federalist and Founder Alexander Hamilton was killed by Aaron Burr at Weehawken via a duel with pistols. His political career died that day as did his dreams of creating a more Liberal Union. Burr was planning to take over the former Spanish lands to build his own country right next to the fledgling USA. (One free of slavery and where women could vote.) With that fatal out come, he didn’t have to kill Hamilton, ended all that. It was a steady decline. But a marked one. A shame too. If only his “honor” wasn’t so important to him he might be better known and revered instead of reviled.
