I’m not sure I’d want to purposely decorate my room with a live spider. Besides, many of the rooms in my house are already decorated.

Get her a phid. Few webs and they are highly prized by enthusiasts and breeders. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phidippus_audax My mother kept a tarantula when she was a girl but I don’t know how long it lived. They found it in a shipment of bananas.
