I’ve always had issues with the piercing of babies ears. Never brave enough to offer with such a strong back hand, though. My best argument to a pre-piercing parent has been about the potential medical complications and the loss of a rite of passage.
i’ve never had my ears pierced mainly because when i was young, my dad would say “if you ever got into a fight, they’ll pull those things right our of your ears!”
that’s was all i needed, even though i never got into fights. and now i just don’t care enough to have it done.

No comment on baby tats and piercings….but very thankful I have no memory of my circumcision.
