So true. I used to work for the military, and whenever some general waltzed through the work area, productivity went down the toilet. Those were also the only times the area got cleaned up on first shift.
Whenever I wanted to keep my wife up to date, I said I needed to consult upper management. The regional manager was visiting and I was paged with “Upper Management calling”. Everyone left him in the dark for several minutes while he tried to figure out which of the directors I knew on a personal basis.
I think I’d rather work for the Pointy Haired Manager Dilbert has… He’s just totally incompetent. Here you get snivelling and backstabbing thrown in for free!
