Once, a gal in my department was telling me how she fixed a PC software problem. Without realizing how it might affect her, I said “that’s not a fix, it’s a work-around”. Later, another person came to me and said she was crushed by what I had said, because she was so proud of finding a way to make it work. I immediately went and apologized.

I trust you didn’t say that since she was a “gal,” she couldn’t have been expected to know the difference. Oops — is this condescending? If so, I apologize.

I once had the “Turn it on” situation.Early on, I asked the Obvious Question: “Are you sure it’s turned on?”The Snotty Answer I received was:“Of course it is, do you think I’m Stupid or something?”After that, I sat back and watched while She and 3 guy who were trying to “help” kept poking and prodding at the machine for about 20 minutes. Then, I reached over and flipped the Power Switch from “0” to “1”. Ms “Do you think I’m Stupid” then pitched a Temper Tantrum and began screaming to all and sundry that I had Sabotaged her machine and cost her Hours of work.

.I didn’t even need to answer her question. She proved herself Stupid with no help from anyone..There are Some Questions you should Never Ask. .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSD75pPsquM
