Friend of mine was contracted to help design a way to lift the ship Ehime Maru, and move it to a shallower spot so the bodies of the students on board could be removed. I think it was A&E that wanted to tag along and do a documentary. The mission was pretty mundane. The director of the A&E documentary, came to the captain of the recovery ship and asked him if he would pretend they were having difficulty moving the Ehime Maru; that it was really some kind of dangerous cliff hanger. The Captain said no.
I’ve been poor – but was never as poor as my parents were when they young. So, regardless of the situation I was in, it wasn’t ever really viewed as a hardship. I suppose that helped me be more resourceful in dealing with it.
Yes, I have been poor (at one point my address was “white ’66 Ford Galaxy”); but spend it on liquor? Hardly ever.

I don’t go for the fantasy reality shows. I typically like the “boring” real, reality shows. Case in point, The Apprentice, what a horrible show, only watched about 5 minutes of it a couple times. That guy on it….he was a friggin idiotic egomaniac.

If not, now is an apt time.

I don’t think that most people would consider the joke harsh. Just reality.
