I remember they originally wanted to make the ‘turkey’ our national bird….until somebody pointed out they were totally birdbrained.

I have, in certain areas of the country.

grazer, you’ve obviously never hunted real wild Turkey! Those are the smartest birds around, very hard to bag. The domesticated variety has had the “smarts” bred out of them.

We had a wild turkey stare at it’s reflection in our glass door for hours!

A lot of people probably think wild turkeys also have those little pop-up thermometer bulbs in them already, and have a hard time walking around with their legs tied.

It was actually Benjamin Franklin’s idea

I admit the only Wild Turkey I’ve ever encountered didn’t have feathers.
