I have cats because they have lower maintenance requirements than dogs. And my females only acknowledge me when I arrive, when I put down a fresh supply of food and water down for them, and when I leave. They tend to yawn when I leave but then it could their way of expressing a heavy sigh of relief.
My dog cannot go anywhere without me….maybe he will get me a new leash for Christmas.My cats are definitely lower maintenance and give me so much pleasure!
