@AlexikakosAdvertising restrictions is to allow an even playing field (the rich don’t flood the media with their message and drown out the poor) and applies to all parties, including the one currently in power. Problem is that the party in power can indirectly advertise while running government programs as this is not counted towards “political campaigning” It is not draconian, but rather an attempt at being fair.

Similarly, TV stations have to work within budgets, and it would be too expensive and time consuming to include all candidates, including those that have absolutely no chance of gaining an influence, for a national debate. It is up to the party to gain support in other ridings, not the media. Yes, we have over 23 registered parties, but are you going to sit through 1/2h+ of TV to hear the answer to one question from all the candidates (and that is with just 1 minute) especially when most are of parties you can’t even vote for. (if you are, that you’re the minority who would look up each parties platform anyways.)

My theory about Trump: it’s like when the student body purposely vote in a boy for Prom Queen…just to be contrary and funny. A lot of people are just that irreverent these days.

What’s not to like about Trump? He is a big fan of Planned Parenthood, he endorses the president’s individual mandate in healthcare, he thinks Kelo was decided correctly, he blames President Bush for the 9/11 attacks, and he says President Bush lied about WMD to get us into the Iraq War. And he makes Bernie look sane by comparison.

We might well ask why do people think any of the candidates are so great.

How about all of the money Cankles Clinton has received from Wall Street? You can bet she didn’t say to them in private what she is saying about them now. With Democrats it is forget about what I may say and just watch I do. She’ll rant and rail against Wall Street Bankers in public and take lots of their cash privately!

    “What makes a great leader?”

Nylon monofilament works well for me; although some prefer the new fluorocarbon variety…

How about we disband the parties and vote on the best man. Both parties are completely controlled by outside interests. It had gotten worse now that they have the country completely paralyzed on the issues that they care nothing about, they win. Having us fight over issues that do not affect what they want means they can control both sides with the issues never being solved.

Are you referring to Trudeau or the Doonesbury strip? If the later, the only way Doonesbury could lean any more left is if it fell off the cliff…
