MONDAY: Dear diary,…. Today I witnessed wind erosion.

TUESDAY: Dear diary,…. Today I witnessed my lower extremities getting crushed by heavy stone.

Wind erosion? What wind? This is likely related to (or due to) earlier wind erosion, but since the piece of rock appears to be dropping straight down, what he just witnessed is (more the result of) gravity.

Looks a little like a martini glass.

Good thing it was a small erosion; if it were any bigger you would be observing how much pain you could endure when a rock falls on you!

A good researcher requires endless patience in these situations.

And it looks like the pebble (or whatever) is truly round. Unrealistic.

Almost all erosion is due to multiple causes, regardless of environment. Moving water is the big one, but who knows what is Number 2? (Hint, it isn’t wind.)

Most of the natural beauty in the world today is due to wind and water erosion.

The picture reminds me of The Toadstools, a pretty group of these hoodoos in Grand Staircase Escalante. Not a long trail from the road we were on going to Page, AZ

Earth, Wind, Fire, …, Rock, Paper, Scissors.
