You have to read or listen to an audio book to really enjoy Jules Verne. A movie can not hold a book’s content, and you don’t run into “poetic license.”
I knew someone who, talking about buying a birthday gift for a friend, actually said, “I was going to buy him a book, but he already has one.”Completely sans irony. I had to bite my tongue.

Yeah, but I don’t think the book could have captured that last scene so effectively. Each medium has marvels the others can’t match.

I had to laugh at “Is there a lot of reading?” 5 thick books, anxiously awaiting #6’s publication. Never saw the show.

I normally do too. That is, until I saw Flowers in the Attic. Then I went, “wth?”.
