I’ve worn hard lenses on and off over the years. I’ve slept in them (very odd getting up in the morning and you can see) and my eyes weren’t glued or swollen shut. Unless this only happens with soft lenses.
There are some soft contacts that are made to be worn for a week at a time without having to remove them, even to sleep. I’ve worn contacts for about 15 years, and had that kind for at least 1o without issues. But usually my eyes just feel better if I take them out at night.

I don’t wear contacts, but I’ve heard so many horror stories about sleeping in them…
