I was at my local Target today. They were stacking all these boxes in preparation for Thanksgiving night, when they open for “Black Friday” (which will really be 11 p.m. Thursday). The saddest thing was overhearing the cashiers chatting about having to show up for work that night. Most of them plan to eat their turkey early in the day so they can get some sleep before reporting in for work.

Support retailers who do not open on Thanksgiving by shopping there instead.

Retailers that open on Thanksgiving will stop if it is not profitable. If people don’t come, they won’t open next time.
