Every generation calls the following generation something demeaning. My Grandparents called my parent’s generation lazy and had no purpose. That generation is now called the Greatest Generation. My parents had the same comments about my generation (the current Grandpa generation see above comic). I refuse to return the favor. The young people I know are all smart and motivated and hard working in their own way. Their priorities may not be mine, but overall, I think the future is in good hands.
If you look at the Maine state flag, you will see that there are two men, a bearded man standing up nice and straight with his arm resting on a scythe, and a clean-shaven man lounging against an anchor and the scrollwork of the state seal itself. It’s not often that you see the concept of the younger generation as slackers imprinted into the very fabric of the state flag.
