As a teacher, I would do anything in my power to avoid having a substitute. It is far more work preparing plans for a sub (who nine times out of ten do not even follow the plans) than it is planning for a regular day. I know that myself and many of my colleagues come to school sick rather than have a sub. We have emergency sub plans, but they need to be updated constantly and are never applicable to what the students are currently learning.

Beardo sure picked a hell of a side job! Depending on what school you’re in, being a substitute teacher has to be one of the worse jobs in the world!
