Talk about some off-the-wall subject, then watch your ads. Seems like sometimes I only have to think of something to get related ads. Not paranoid about it. Nope.

As soon as I turned 50, I started getting estate planning and cremation mail.

Sounds more like my snail mail, the internet knows I can’t afford any of it.

On the upside: one can delete or ignore them.

Look up “Lineman pole climbing spurs”. Opens up a whole new experience.

Hubby has a fairly rare genetic condition (Charcot-Marie-Tooth) which is currently incurable. He decided to donate his body to the Anatomy Board to help in the search for a cure/treatment. The ashes can be returned to the family at the end of the school year, and you can have a memorial/internment when it is convenient.

My dad before he passed told us, “When I die, go shark fishing, use me for bait.” Did I mention my dad had a peculiar sense of humor?

Yes, is this actually helpful, or a hint of intent?

Sorry, but I can’t afford to die. With this new anti-inflation bill, They printed 850 billion dollars!) I can’t afford to live either. We had an instant price increase at the grocery store of almost 10% because they devalued the dollar so much.

Dear AARP, please stop sending your invites to me. You started when I turned 50 and I’ve never responded. And now 16 years later you’re still bothering me… can’t you take a hint ???

We figure when the time comes closer we have to pick between two cemeteries.

First is a cemetery in the township where our reenactment unit is headquartered – it was the first rural cemetery in the state after the law allowing same was passed in the 1800s – and our reenactment unit participates in 2 parades which passes by the cemetery and unit members will be able to salute us if they like as they pass – and we will have a good spot to watch the parades. Plus one of my two sisters and his sister live in nearby communities so they might actual visit us after we are gone.

Second is a larger and a more publicly known cemetery (has been on PBS in a series on cemeteries) which is in the county where we were both born and it has an annual reenactment for the first large scale battle of the American Revolution. (Husband, by accident, set his shirt on fire once at this event while firing our unit’s repro 18thc cannon.) Due to its size and history I figure it is more likely to continue and to be well maintained over time, but will be probably be a lot more expensive.

We are of different religions and don’t want to be separated so we can’t be buried in same – not even in the section my family has at a cemetery.
