When I lived in Connecticut and my in-laws in Florida my FIL would call and ask how cold it was, usually around Christmas. But in July when we were in the low 80s or 70s I’d call and ask him how he liked the high 90s.

I live in Florida and I try not to rub it in to my friends in northern climes. What works for me wouldn’t necessarily work for them. We all have different reasons for where we choose to live. I got fed up with freezing my butt of so I moved here 38 years ago. I wouldn’t go back if you paid me.

“How cold is it in Canada”??? Canada is a large country, larger than the U.S. If he asked how cold it is in Toronto, or Edmonton, or Nunavut, the answer might make sense, But In Vancouver it rarely gets below zero (celsius, of course), and right now it is 7 (celsius) and raining.

A long time friend of mine lives in eastern Washington and I sometimes tease him the frigid 60º weather we’re having down here in socal. Truth is, he loves it there. In fact when he got his assignment to Fairchild AFB, just outside of Spokane, I told him he’s going to love it there. That was back in the 80s, he’s still there.
