OK, I get the joke, Ben is charging full price, but is being scrupulously “honest” about what the sign says, but he really didn’t have to take half of them away, just put the sign in front of the whole stack…
It works. Retail friend once told me about a load of men’s shirts they were selling cheap, like $1/each (this was a while back as you can tell). Few takers. Changed pricing to $3/limit 5 to a customer. Off they went. “Perceived Value” I think is the economic term.
