I picked a book like that. After reading it I realIzed that it was based on a movie that was based on a video game. Think I’ll stick with Nero Wolfe (at least the TV series was based on the books).
And heck, at least it’s science fiction and not a cheesy romance novel with sparkly vampires and really lousy gender politics.
betcha Junior read a least a paragraph in each of those other books before snagging the one he really wanted.
.A well written science fiction story is worth its weight in gold.
