I, too, do not mind carrying a basket of heavy things for my Significant Other. Where I draw the line, however, is when the task transforms into “carrying a lot of very heavy things … and a basket”. Seems like Bub missed line-drawing class ;)
If there were a couple more panels at the beginning, I suspect they’d show Betty asking Bub to get a shopping cart — and we see him showing up with just a basket. Betty is teaching him a little lesson — not subtle anymore, when she takes the selfie.
I did that to myself the other day, but NOT on purpose! I know how easy it is to keep adding stuff! But you can always go back and get a cart if there are two of you shopping together. However, I usually shop alone. It’s easier that way, unless you end up needing a cart. :P
