Kids are upstairs? No problem, just send them a text message. They are more likely to notice that anyway..Can’t call down the stairs to my husband. He won’t hear me. (he turns down his hearing aids when he works in the shop)I just call him on the phone. It’s rigged to flash the lights.
yesterday, ok. today, not so good. They complain all the time about Junior’s behavior, but if that’s the example they give, then they don’t have the authority to complain
When mom & dad had the split level house, mom would shout from upstairs (kitchen) for either dad or me. Didn’t matter where we were in the house the response was always H-E-R-E !I understand Bud calling Junior this way. If he had walked up the stairs and politely knocked on the kid’s door, walked in and in normal polite voice said “Dinner is ready. Come now.” and left…….. Junior would not have heard and would miss dinner. …. Of course he still might miss dinner.

At our house, if the kids are downstairs, we just stomp on the floor – 2 thumps = dinner.
