My car was stolen several years ago! Had to pay way too much to get it back from the egregious tow company that reclaimed it. man they were evil bastards!

A 85 yo neighbor had her truck stolen. First, the police charged her $100 to file a police report. Then they informed her that they had located it but wouldn’t tell her where, she had to wait until it was towed. Their professed logic was that they didn’t want her going there and making trouble. My guess is that they wanted the tow and impound charges.Since the insurance company had already paid off (they were FAST!) she told the police to contact them; the truck now belonged to them.

Not actually true. Property crime is way down, as are things like armed robbery, murder, and rape. But domestic abuse is way up.

So true – still seeing crimes reported on the news, seeing it in papers, Crime goes on regardless :(
