The grocery stores in our state have a limit of one person per household in the store at a time. I don’t know how rigorously they’re enforcing it, and if two people showed up together, pushed separate carts, and rang out separately, I doubt if they’d notice, but still, that’s their policy. And most of the shoppers do seem to be by themselves.
Local Costco limits people to two per card. It’s nice shopping without 15 member extended families blocking the aisles and snarfing all of the samples. No more samples, but still nice.
I can’t remember the tv show but there was a secret spot inside a clothing display where hubbies/boyfriends would hide while the ladies shopped. All stores should have them out in the open.
Since I share in the cooking I know whats in the pantry. I get whats on the shopping list while checking out the rest of the store and get what we are low on. Probably twice as fast as if I go shopping with my wife.

Wait in the “car?” Don’t you mean “bar?”

my wife is in the middle of those extremes! She gets most of what she wants but not all the things I don’t want her to get

When the cashier asks “did you find everything ok”, my reply is usually, “that and more.”

Around here I’ve seen extended families in stores, no matter how old or small, every member told to operate a shopping cart.

I usually stick my husband in the book section while I go around the aisles. Precisely to avoid his inspiration to strike. :)

if it is really hot and humid like it is here, he might as well roam around the store while she does the shopping.

Amazing, as Betty is terrified someone will breath on her, I would have thought she would have been the one to stick to the list and get out.
