I remember the house I lived in as a kid had a clock in the kitchen and behind it was a power outlet in a hole, so you could plug the clock in and not have a cord dangling.
I have a clock, with a"background",of an antique map. the minute hand just hangs there, for years now. It was too cheap to bother to get fixed. but I like it. SO I just removed the battery. I will be 6:00 as long as I’m here. (Correctly so, twice a day.)
My wife collects clocks. I can look in any direction and see what time it is. That said, I almost always look at the digital clock under the entertainment center. (Daylight saving time changes are a pain.)
