When I played the tympani in the school band, I had to use a device to tune them. I could get close by ear, but the band leader wanted it perfect.

Splurge for lessons at a local guitar store or with another teacher, or go to the many wonderful sources online. Your enjoyment will go through the roof

I was lucky to learn, early on, that I have zero musical ability. However, I greatly appreciate music… and am a whiz at live streaming and the CD changer.

Having tried to learn the guitar, I can sympathize with Bub. After all, people like Dave Gilmour make it look so easy. Just wiggle your fingers about.
