Westerns were the stock of our Saturday afternoon matinees when I was a kid. What does Junior do on Saturdays?

When I was his age, before even TV, we went to the double feature western extravaganza at the Rex Theater on Saturday morning and took all that cowboy stuff for granted. Years later they directed them towards adults and started calling them ‘westerns’ leaving me and my buddies with just memories.

Maybe the boy would prefer something like The Marvels?

What about the good guy getting the girl? Where is that?

Just spent the week mentally trying to rewrite “Civil War” to remove the cliches. Just moving events off-screen would have helped. Happy trails!

He just got what he deserved already….Hopefully, lesson learned!

Westerns are full of bigotry and false information anyway. Their generation set a bad precedent
