To me she was making a point that it is perfectly okay to notice pretty/handsome people. My husband and I do that all the time, and neither of us feels judged or suspicious-it is interesting when we both agree. Now we do not stare incessantly—it is a notice, comment, and return to what we were doing before that event.
We retired to the town of our alma mater, with 50k students, and my husband and I can’t afford to ogle the endless parade of gorgeous young men and women, we’d never had time to do anything else. Interestingly, most of them are looking at their phones, not one another.
