Aren't you HOT, Principal Nicholas?
It's, like, ninety degrees and you're wearing a JACKET!
I suppose it IS a bit stuffy in the hallway...but I'm in my office, which is air-condition-
WHAT?
Oopsy.
Years back I was going to a college where there were A/C units in the office windows. I walked in and it was sweltering. I asked about the A/C and was told those were for the computers which were mainframes back when.
That’s how it was here in MA today. Over 90 and no AC’s in the schools in my town. The building I work in was so hot. Hooter on the upper level. One teacher has only 1 outlet in her room (old school) so she can’t even put fans around the room. My youngest has to remind me he has AC in his school. (he goes to a technical high school)
They closed all the schools in a neighboring county today because of heat and humidity. This was in metro Baltimore. I’m sure there are a lot more than 55 schools in that county; but because of supposed transportation problems, they shut down the whole school system.

This is probably the first time I have ever seen Nate do such a weird surprised face. Oh yeah by the way, Second!

He’s never been to the principal’s office? He should already know its air conditioned.

peanuts511Back in the ‘40s, we didn’t even have fans in 90+ F, but the offices had air conditioners.
