Yes, “mary sue” characters are usually also boring characters. They need nuances, and flaws.

Artur is so good at everything. And yet he doesn’t notice the contempt Nate has for him. That must be Artur’s only flaw.

Wait…DeeDee was looking for Nate? Hmm, could she and Nate possibly get to be a bit more than friends…? They seem to get along pretty well, and both are creative and imaginative.
