Those cats are literally criminals…

According to the last panel, cats have opposable thumbs. It’s just a comic, though, so it doesn’t really matter.

It’s not paranoia if they really are out to get me!

I assume Mr. Godfrey died years ago from repeated tongue lashings.

Wow. Nate has been mature now…

Why’s that?

Perhaps Mrs. Godfrey could retire……

This would be a good time for marty to get nate a dog! He can have a companion to protect him from cats! After all, the dog he gets should be able to scare away cats! Unlike another dog we all know the name of.

Killing off Mrs. Godfrey might be a bit too drastic. Suppose she retired or got transferred to a different school. Her replacement might be young, very good-looking and nice. Nate would have a huge crush on her. The new teacher would be an “antagonist” in a different way. She wouldn’t play favorites. This would disappoint Nate, but Gina would be furious since she’d no longer be “teacher’s pet.” Whole new set of classroom dynamics.

Why doesn’t he?

Why do you won’t to kill Mrs. Godfrey off? She is sort of a main character also this comics dose not have Mrs.Godfrey in it!

No. She stays. The “Godfrey as (likely last-minute) stand-in umpire”, falling like bricks on one of the cornerstones of Nate’s youthful summer, was a refreshing…and entertaining storyline. As was the one several years ago when she put her house up for sale and the guys thought she was entirely exiting their lives at last……but it turned out she bought a house a couple blocks away, and the guys got the shock of their lives to find her sitting at her usual place in the classroom on the first day of school! THAT was a good one,too. She should stay…hey, these guys are in sixth grade forever and a day, right?

You have to rescue Nate. As this story continues….

That´s a little harsh; after all, this is a comments section and everyone is entitled to respectfully voice an opinion about the strip, be it a favourable one or otherwise. I´ve said before that I like the fact that people give honest opinions here, instead of blindly (and thus insincerely) praising each and every strip as is the case on some other comments sections on GoComics (e.g. Garfield).

Just out of interest, in what manner do you think Ms Godfrey should be killed off?

It’d be funny if Mrs. Godfrey did get transferred to a new school and Nate would end up missing her and visiting her at the new school just to draw comics of her

I have met people that we’re afraid of cats, strange. My Tom cat had dogs that we’re very afraid of him!
